Google is looking for authoritative sites that are actual businesses that are getting legitimate visitors to their site. Search engines were nothing new; the first one was Archie created back in 1990, and there had been more than a few created between then & when Google launched (most notably Yahoo!) Google has been focused on semantic search and now uses something called Latent-Semantic Indexing (LSI) in its core Hummingbird engine. Images improve the experience for website visitors. They make your site look better, and they are great for SEO. Many users search for images alone so if yours have informative and succinct descriptions then you could obtain a lot more traffic. It is also another way for Google to figure out what your site is about so where possible including keywords. Website owners used to litter their content with tons of keywords in order to rank higher on Google. Now, the search engine penalizes for those practices.

Authority flows through the links on your website as well

If you optimize your meta descriptions with clear and attractive extracts on what potential visitors can find on your site, it becomes easier for them to see if the information they’re looking for is on that page. If you want to generate traffic through search, it’s best to do keyword research before you start writing. This way, you can focus on keywords for which a certain amount of search volume already exists – in other words, write toward topics that people are already searching for information about. The days of keyword “stuffing” are over, but you still need to keep your site pages optimized around one central idea and keyword.

A great and fast way to convey your goal is by using headlines and taglines. Authority is measured by the quantity and quality of inbound links to your site, as well as its technical performance and structure.
